Pienaar says MTN customers can expect “more offers in the market this year that support the need for better pricing”. Yes, this "need for better pricing" thing is new. Haven't seen that trend before. Best not to rush into things though. Perhaps hire multi-million Rand telecom consultants to investigate. South Africa deserves better than to be fobbed off with this kind of corporate speak.

They should start decreasing Contract rates, some of the off-net calls at peak are sitting at R2.70 just few cents from R2.85 Prepaid Off-net.
We understand the reducing the subscription will have a huge impact but they should drop those off-net rates on contract and increase the bundle minutes at least.

This is all good and well, but when are they going to reduce contract call rates, or increase the number of bundled minutes? All to often with the cell operators the focus is on the pre-paid market and the contract customers are completely ignored. I would love to see a drop in the subscription fee on any of the networks! I bet it ain't gonna happen in this lifetime!
