Cell C targets business with ‘free’ calls
The mobile operator has launched new packages for business users that offer budget calls and even a subscription package with free calls.
The new products offer reduced rates between predefined user groups or a subscription model where calls to other users are then free.
The first product, available from 25 October, is called SME CUG (small and medium enterprises closed user group) and, as the name suggests, is intended for the small business market.
“With the new product, business owners will be able to include all their employees who are on the Cell C network, including those on prepaid, in a closed user group where they will pay 75c/minute for [on-network] calls between members of the group,” says Cell C CEO Alan Knott-Craig.
He adds that the billing will be per second.
There is no activation fee or subscription fee for the service.
Cell C is also launching an advanced version called Corporate CUG for business customers, providing “free” calls between members of a group for a monthly subscription of R99/employee.
Cell C says a fair-use policy will apply to the Corporate CUG package. A company spokesman was not immediately available to explain the policy.
Users of both services will be able to view their use and see which subscribers are linked using the Cell C Pro online portal. — (c) 2012 NewsCentral Media
